FUN times were had by all at the 2023 Spring Carnival! Over 500 people attended and participated in games, prizes, crafts, story time with Mr. Fosberg and Mr. Hutchinson, face painting, balloon making, improv comedy from Once Told Tales, and a magic show from Daffy Dave. Popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, hot dogs, and food trucks were plentiful. THANK YOU EVERYONE who made the 2023 Spring Carnival possible; especially our 70+ volunteers! Special thanks to our busiest co-chair bees, Anna Miller & Kim Pankow, for pollinating all the flowers that bloomed.

Math Adventure was a huge success! Over 70 students participated to form 17 teams. Every team successfully completed all four puzzles, identified the thief, and successfully returned the secret ice cream formula back to the Frozandia Ice Cream Factory. From 5:30p to 8:00p Shorewood was filled with a ton of laughter and a little well-managed chaos! Special shout out to our event chair, Tom Morgan, and all the parents and volunteers who helped as actors and coaches. This event would not be possible without your support and participation. 

Multicultural Night was back this year! Hundreds of people filled the gym and cafeteria to celebrate a vast array of music, dance, art, and food from cultures represented in our student body. Tables overflowed with delicious food shared by Shorewood families - so much so that we had to keep adding more and more tables! From the music of our Shorewood Band to Taiko Drummers, from samosas to tostadas, and all those involved in creating and displaying classroom art projects, our first in-person Shorewood PTA event in three years was the perfect representation of the supportive and diverse community we are all so proud to be part of! Thank you to all the parents, volunteers, and staff who made this event possible - especially Mrs. Gasamis, Mr. Hollingsworth, Vicki Treakle, and our event chair, Erika Chapman. 

In December 2022 we earned $16,117 for Shorewood Elementary through our APEX Fundraiser! THANK YOU to everyone who participated and CONGRATS to all our students on nailing those killer dance moves.
